Moe's Mother is having one of the best days she's had in a long time.
Her son Moe was facing the possibility of going to jail—and somehow, he's coming home.
She's relieved. She's happy. She's cooking him a real home-cooked dinner: meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, collard greens. To her, this is a celebration.
Then Tavon arrives.
She welcomes him into her home because she doesn't know why he's really there.
When she asks:
“Did you hear the good news?”
she genuinely believes Tavon has come because Moe avoided jail.
