The Pastor gets an unexpected call from Marcus, someone he clearly shares a long history with.

Their relationship immediately feels familiar.

Marcus jokes about the Pastor running a church, soul food restaurant, barber shop, and clothing business all out of the same location. The Pastor gives it right back, joking about his food and offering Marcus:

“You want a plate, a cut or the word?”

For a moment, they're just two men who have known each other for years, falling naturally back into the rhythm of their friendship.

They laugh.

Then the laughter dies.

And the Pastor hears something in Marcus's voice.

Something isn't right.
