Eve is inside the house cooking when Marcus finally walks in with the man she's been hearing about—the real Rod.
Her first word to him says a lot:
“Finally.”
Eve already knows what Marcus has done. She knows he pretended to be Rod to collect money that wasn't his, and she knows that decision has created consequences far bigger than Marcus wants to admit.
Marcus would rather ease Rod into the truth.
Eve has no intention of letting that happen.
She immediately tells Rod exactly what Marcus did, creating a funny but tense back-and-forth between her and Marcus. When Marcus tries to shut her down, Eve gives it right back to him. She isn't impressed by his excuses, and she refuses to allow him to minimize the danger they've been placed in.
